This junior suite is truly amazing! It's so big and comfy, perfect for travelers like me who want extra space to relax and feel at home. The room is beautifully designed, making my stay here unforgettable. I love it!
Personally, I found the flat-screen TV with cable channels a bit unnecessary. But hey, that's just my opinion, others might find it enjoyable!

The room here is big, and the bathroom is spacious, with an incredibly comfortable bed and a great location not far from Sao Sebastiao Aqueduct.

It's modern, clean and organized! It's not located in the historical center of the city, however there are many options of buses you can take and it's closer to the University (10min walking) than if you were staying in the center. There are also some stores, restaurants and supermarket in the same street. The dorm and the bathroom were big and really great!
I didn't like the fact that you have to pay to use wifi conection in your own computer. If the guest wants to use the hotel's computer is for free, but if he wants to use his own computer he has to pay for it! That doesn't make any sense!! Some staffs were not very well informed about turistic information. One of them couldn't tell us about which bus we should take to go to the center and the other recomended a restaurant that didn't have what you asked for (bacalhau- codfish).

This junior suite is absolutely amazing! It's so spacious and comfortable, perfect for relaxation after a long day exploring Coimbra. The room is beautifully designed, and I really felt at home here. Plus, having a flat-screen TV with cable channels was a bonus for winding down in the evenings. As a traveler who values both space and comfort, this room definitely exceeded my expectations.
One small thing I didn't love was the flat-screen TV. It's not a big issue, but I prefer streaming services over cable channels.

This hotel is located by the river and just a short stroll down to the town centre in the ancient capital. the room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable. the service provided by the staff was attentive, especially the young man named Bernardo Barata, who went above and beyond to make guests feel at home. Breakfast offered healthy options for special diets. the lounge area was pleasant with a nice view.
The quality of the dinner and some of the restaurant offerings were overpriced and not up to standards, as described in one of the reviews.

Free parking spaces just in front of the hotel (limited number) although there is a big parking at the back of the hotel.
15-20 min walk to the historic center. The receptionist did not even have a turist map of the city.

The Tryp Coimbra is definitely representative of the Sol Melia chain. A well balanced combination of luxury and fair price. The room was comfortable, very clean and well setup. Due to a confusion, we were initially assigned a room (a group of three adults) that had only two beds. The situation was immediately rectified without us having to return to the front desk. The staff was professional, friendly and capable, reflexive of the level one would expect from a hotel of this level. Only drawback I should warn is that a car or taxi is a must due to the location (I believe public transportation is also an alternative but not practical) if considering sightseeing places such as the university, city center, botanical garden, etc.
Although it is not the hotel's fault, the location is not strategic for visiting Coimbra since one must have a car to get around from such location (in google maps it looks closer but because of the topography of Coimbra it is not in a location one would consider just walking from). However, the location is quite peaceful, safe and more PLEASENT than other hotels closer to the city center.
